Name: Nguyet Mai Vuong
Location: Washington DC
I was born in Viet Nam and migrated to the U.S in 1990, after spending three years in a refugee camp in Malaysia and Phillipines. I received a bachelor's degree in fine arts from University of Maryland, CP. I have exhibited around Baltimore and the DC metro area.
By day, I am a web designer. When not designing within parameters and constraints, I like to color outside the box. In exploring the balance between chaos and constraints, I find joy and hope in the world around me through new perspectives and shared stories. The world make a little bit more sense to me through art and self expression. This site is about sharing my personal art journey as I grow and mature and continue to ask questions.
Recently, I started a watercolor portrait series of my closest girl friends. These women are my un-related sisters, my honest mirrors and my constant inspiration. Although each her own unique individual, we share each others' spirit, strength, humor and compassion.
