Haiti Reborn Fundraiser

I donated Walk Unafraid and The Hug to help raise funds for the Haiti Reborn, a program of the Quixote Center. They work in the United States to build grassroots activism to support just U.S. policies toward Haiti. The proceeds will go to support two programs in Haiti – one is a reforestation program in the northern part of the country. The other program is a women’s collective that works with rape victims in Port au Prince. They’ve provided assistance to well over 1300 women in the last two years, and also do a variety of advocacy and training with young people on violence against women. The founders were victims of extremely brutal, political rapes during the coup years 1991-94. They work together to help women victims during the most recent period of violence.
